Rush Cup Check-In Information

Coaches/Managers:

Another fall season and, more importantly, Rush Cup 2011 are around the corner. Listed below are some important pieces of information to make the event run smoothly for all.

1. Schedules
   We hope to have them out by late Wednesday morning. If we don’t meet this deadline don’t panic it means we are working on it and will get them out as soon as possible. If you send me an e-mail asking when it will be out, all you will be doing is delaying the process. Be patient!! Please check at www.texasrush.com, click on the Tournament tab on the left and then click on schedules.

1. Tournament Sites

• Bear Creek will host ALL GAMES FOR ALL AGE GROUPS IN BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS BRACKETS, INCLUDING THE U15 TO U18 BOYS BRACKETS!!

1. Tournament Check-in

• Check-in will be at the OMNI HOTEL on Friday evening from 7 – 10 p.m. For directions please visit http://www.omnihotels.com/FindAHotel/HoustonWestside/MapAndDirections.aspx.

For those who can’t make check-in at the OMNI, we will have check-in at Bear Creek tournament headquarters on Saturday morning, no later than one hour prior to your first game. There are specific instructions to be able to do this. These are:

1. Don’t abuse this service. If you can come on Friday, please do so. It will make everyone’s life easier on Saturday morning, especially yours.
2. Make sure you have all of the right info. (SEE BELOW: ROSTERS/PLAYER CARDS/MEDICAL RELEASES). There won’t be any time to fix problems on Saturday like there would be on Friday night! I would hate for a team to be unable to play due to forgetting something!!

1. Rosters

Please use your official roster if you have one. I know there are some problems at this time of the year with new rosters being created. Last year’s rosters are still official until the end of the month so you can still use them. You can write in guest player’s information on this roster. If for any reason you do not have an official roster, get a letter from your club’s registrar with their signature on it to prove your players have been registered and are covered by insurance.

1. Player Cards

Please use this year’s if you have them. However WE WILL ACCEPT LAST YEARS if you have an official roster with the player listed on it. Guest players with no card, please have your club/association registrar generate a guest player card. If for any reason you do not have the official player cards, get a letter from your club’s registrar to prove your players have been registered and are covered by insurance.

1. Medical Releases

Please make sure you have a medical release for all players with you at check-in.

1. Uniforms

Visitors will wear WHITE and Home Team will wear COLORS. Home team is listed first on the schedule. HOME TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CHANGING WHEN THERE ARE CONFLICTS!!

1. Game Cards

- YOU WILL GET FIVE (5) GAME CARDS AT CHECK-IN.

- HOME TEAM: PLEASE GIVE THE REFEREE THE CARD WITH GAME INFORMATION FILLED IN ON THE FRONT OF THE CARD.

- REFEREE MUST SIGN THE CARD AFTER THE GAME TO VERIFY THE SCORE.

- THE WINNING TEAM NEEDS TO HAND IN THE GAME CARD TO TOURNAMENT HQ AFTER THE GAME.

- IN THE EVENT OF A TIE THE HOME TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HANDING IN THE CARD.

1. Parking

- Parking will be hectic at Bear Creek Park, so arrive as early as possible before your game.

- Police officers will be directing traffic, so please follow their lead so you don’t end up enjoying a paddy wagon ride!

- DON’T PARK SOMEWHERE YOU SHOULD NOT AS YOU WILL BE TOWED!!

- Police Officers are good guys who are working their tails off so yoru kids can play!! Give them a thanks rather than a scowl; it will go a long way to making your day better!!

Check our website at www.texasrush.com and then click on the link for Rush Cup 2011. On the Rush Cup home page click field maps and directions.

1. Heat/Hydration

- Please make sure your teams bring plenty of fluids since this is South Texas in August … HOT BABY, HOT!!

- Bringing a team tent would be a very wise decision.

- There will be a MANDATORY WATER BREAK halfway through each half for all age groups. The clock will keep ticking while this happens.

1. Field Conditions:

With the three month drought we have had in South Texas, BEAR CREEK fields are very dry!! So be prepared for dry and dusty conditions!!
