Wendnesday, March 19SPINNING CLASS - Villasport - The Woodlands

Players and coaches attended a 60-minute session conducted by Sarah
Getty, Fitness Instructor, Villasport. The group was introduced to a new, dynamic form of cross training which helps to increase the athlete’s overall fitness and strength. Music, video, prizes were provided along with the burning of many calories in a demanding, but fun session!

“Cross training on a spin bike is an excellent way to strengthen your muscles and build endurance for the game! Building hamstring and inner thigh strength is also very important for injury prevention.” Sarah Getty, Villasport Fitness Instructor

Thursday, March 20 - Baylor University Clinic - Bear Branch Sports Fields -  The Woodlands

Coach Paul Jobson (pictured below) of Baylor University offered two clinics for players graduating in 2018 through  2015 at Bear Branch.  Coach Jobson provided the girls an insight into the type training undertaken at the division one college level.  The players were able to ask general questions about the recruitment process and the demands of being a student-athlete in college.

"It is fantastic opportunity for the players to work with a coach from a top college program such as Baylor. Attending college ID days and camps are becoming increasingly expensive so we are pleased to  offer our players free clinics at our own training facilities."  Andrew Squire Director of Coaching ECNL

Texas Rush are providing the players with 7 college clinics through the Spring season to give them additional exposure and opportunity to reach the collegiate level.

Monday, March 24 - Special Guest! - Soccer City The Woodlands

Tiffany McCarty, a forward with new NWSL franchise Houston Dash stopped by to observe the TREP players training at their weekly indoor session.  Tiffany answered questions (pictured below) from the players on her experience progressing through the US National Team program, into college soccer with Florida State and becoming a professional player.

"Tiffany is an ideal role model for the youth players.  Clearly she is a talented soccer player.  She also excelled academically graduating high school and college ahead of schedule and earning a masters degree in her 4-year period with Florida State.  Her experience supports the philosophy of our College Advisory Program that is helping players find the right college both from an academic and a soccer viewpoint."  Simon Boddison Director of Soccer Operations

TIffany will be making other appaearences at Rush events in the future.  You can track her progress with Houston Dash by clicking here
