The Texas Rush Soccer Club is proud to provide a number of programs outside the normal realm of training, competition, and soccer related activities. One of those programs is the College Advisory Program, or C.A.P. This program is run by the C.A.P. Director, Simon Boddison, and is provided to our U15 to U18 age groups (boys and girls).
The program is set up to serve the college bound player in a number of different areas. Starting with the freshman year of high school and continuing through their senior year, this program provides information and guidance in areas such as:
| ♦ College Preparation | ♦ College Research Assistance |
| ♦ Admissions Counseling | ♦ Information on both academic and athletic endeavors |
| ♦ NCAA/NAIA College Athletics | ♦ Review any information that the players may have prepared themselves |
| ♦ Recruiting | ♦ Q & A for student-athletes and parents |
| ♦ College Contact Preparation | ♦ College test prep assistance |
| ♦ ACT/SAT Guide |
The Texas Rush Soccer Club has partnered with Sport Source (www.TheSportSource.com) along with the other 28 Rush affiliates from around the country. This program is unique, very inexpensive and educates the prospective student-athlete (and the parent) about becoming a student-athlete in the collegiate ranks. It is a program where the individual prospective student-athlete will take accountability for his/her research and get fully involved in finding the correct academic institution which fits his/her individual needs.
"The College Advisory Program is set up to help the student-athlete (and parents) understand the complex process of dealing with the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA and finding a school which fits the student-athlete's needs from an academic, soccer and social perspective. The recruitment process is getting more complex each year and the club's coaching staff will coninue to help and advise players within the club achieve their ambition to play collegiate soccer and to gain scholarships. 13 student-athletes from Texas Rush last year advanced to play collegiate soccer," says Director of Soccer Operations/CAP Simon Boddison.
